So is cracking apps the only reasons to jailbreak your iPhone ? I don’t think so !
Let’s me introduce you some jewels available only for jailbroken iPhone that will boost your productivity and free your iPhone from Apple bounds.
Note that all the apps of this list are 3.0 compatible.
Multitask

Kirikae (free)
Kirikae, a jailbreak app switcher/launcher for the iPhone, is a forbidden app that shows exactly how simple power features can drastically improve the iPhone user experience. With two clicks of the home button you can switch between apps while automatically backgrounding the app you leave.
Kirikae works just like you think it should. Double click your home button to bring up the app switcher, select the app that you want to switch to, and Kirikae keeps everything active thanks to Backgrounder. You can use Kirikae to quickly access backgrounded apps from the home screen as well. The app itself is light on system resources which is always a concern when you’re dealing with Mobile Substrate.
Another handy feature is the ability to quit apps from within Kirikae. Just select the application that you want to quit with the customary finger slide, then hit quit. As it should, sliding your finger over SpringBoard gives you the option to respring.

Multifl0w ($4,99)
Multifl0w is a cool app which bridges the gap that Backgrounder has, that when your apps are running on Background you need either follow the backgrounder badges and also scroll pages to switch between opened apps, which is quite frustrating(at least for me). Multiflow is a multitasking interface, mimicking what Palm does for its WebOS, which displays applications snapshot that are currently running on background and allows you to scroll left and right to switch between apps that are currrently running.
Multifl0w uses Backgrounder as a back-end, all it does is to provide a cool interface to switch between opened apps. Switching between apps is quite fast and I didn’t faced any issues with springboard crashing or so. You wont see any icons on springboard for Multifl0w and you can enable it by double tapping the home button.
Lockscreen
Information

LockCalendar (free)
Lock Calendar is a Mobile Substrate plug-in that allows you to display upcoming calendar entries on your lock screen.
It’s a very simple app to show your X upcoming calendar events on the lock screen. It’ll show the location, and time of the event too, along with the ability to scroll through them. And sense it uses Mobile Substrate, there isn’t an extra process running in the background eating up your battery. Definitely an app for you if you always use the calendar and don’t like having to open it all the time.
Lock Calendar come with some nice features. These include the ability to display some or all of your calendars, and to change font type, size and color. What I personally like about Lock Calendar is that it doesn’t require WinterBoard to run.

LockInfo ($4,99)
LockInfo is a great Lockscreen app available on Cydia/Rock. I had the trial for a few days liked it enough to actually buy it.
What does it do? It let’s you view your e-mails, SMS, calendar, todo, weather, missed calls and voicemails on your Lockscreen.
The app is fully configurable and you can add plugin and many beautiful themes (my favorite is Matte UI) are currently available.
In addition, LockInfo doesn’t drain your battery, because it doesn’t run when your iPhone is sleeping.

Intelliscreen ($9,99)
Intelliscreen is essentially a plugin made up of different, scaleable, customizable windows on your Lockscreen. The program runs right over your Lockscreen wallpaper and can take as much or as little space as you want it to. If the amount of content is more than the window can display, there’s no need to panic. You can scroll lists just like in any of the native iPhone apps.
The windows can be themed with different skins to match your wallpaper, and it’s great being able to customize something more on the Lockscreen. All that unused, empty space was making me jittery.
Intelliscreen runs on your Lockscreen, but its settings page is reached via the Springboard. Once you tap on it you’ll see two buttons up top: a preview button on the left, and an apply settings button on the right (note: you don’t need to press apply, the home button does the same thing).
Widgets

QuickWidgets (free)
QuickWidgets is a new app which provides many useful widgets for your Lockscreen.
You can set such widgets as Events, Notes, QuickReply, Dial, Google Search, Camera, Calendar, Clock, Weather and Flashlight to be displayed on your Lockscreen. It seems that more widgets will be available in future updates.
The widgets can be moved, switched on/off (all or separately), changed in size, or changed in color (font).
To set the widgets, press and hold it until it does not shake, double tap changes the size and red dot opens the settings of this widget (for quickreply or weather).

SmartScreen (free/$5)
SmartScreen is an application for the iPhone and iPod touch that allow informational widgets to be placed and used on the Lockscreen.
Widgets are similar to those offered by Apple’s “Dashboard”, and they follow familiar look and feelings. The widgets can be rearranged on the Lockscreen by using a ‘tap and hold to move’ action, that is often used by users (when moving icons around on the home screen).
SmartScreen provides access to various controls with toggles for wireless interfaces and services, as well as iPod control (via double-tapping the Home button while at the Lockscreen).
If you have any question about these apps, or if you know other ones, feel free to use the comments section. And stay tuned because next week, I’ll talk about some great utility applications for jailbroken iPhone.
