Complex projects require a series of activities, some of which must be performed sequentially and others that can be performed in parallel with other activities. This collection of series and parallel tasks can be modeled as a network.
In 1957 the Critical Path Method (CPM) was developed as a network model for project management. CPM is a deterministic method that uses a fixed time estimate for each activity. While CPM is easy to understand and use, it does not consider the time variations that can have a great impact on the completion time of a complex project.

Nowadays, with the multiplication of capable devices, and the mix between the private and the professional sphere, one of the key of productivity is to avoid loosing time synchronizing manually files and multiple data between your devices and places.
Imagine that you have a smartphone, a personal laptop, a family computer and a professional computer. Now think about all the datas you could need at the same time on each device : contact, agenda, email, rss feeds, bookmarks, notes, todos, files, music,… Add to this the need to access some data from anywhere (friends place, clients office, …). And finally, consider that your devices don’t obligatory run the same OS and don’t always run the same applications.

I’m dad of two wonderful daughters of 3 and 6 years old. Unfortunately, I’ve forgotten a lot of important moments like when did they start walking, what were their first words, etc… More precisely, I remember some of the things, mostly feeling and approximate dates but most of the them are blur.
I’m trying to keep a personal diary, and this should be the perfect tool to avoid forgetting the details of all these moments. But I’m not able to write on a regular basis (at least not on a daily basis) because I’m lazy, or because I think that I always have something better to do. So I can’t rely on this diary to be my memory.
